Unburden yourself from New Years Resolution!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!🎆  Finally 2018 is here!

Ok, lets go through the resolutions of 2018: resolutions3

  1. Eat less junk food, more grass
  2. Exercise more, eat donuts while on treadmill
  3. Organic everyday, all day, cook my turkey in a flowerpot (checkout video on my Facebook page, hilarious!)

Umm.. something is missing!

As this maybe heartfelt at the time, but let’s face it, how many of us get pass the first week without falling off the wagon. As we dump ourselves in front of the t.v. again, snacks everywhere, absorbed in social media, just watching 2018 roll on by.

Have you all set your New Years resolution? May look great on paper, but not so much in practicality. Why?  Every December we build ourselves up, follow the spectacle of hope to turn a new leaf in 2018 only to fall short at the first hurdle. Honestly, we resolve to never evolve. We set ourselves to fail, because we anticipate one particular day each year to make a change.

Await an entire year or a month to reset the resolution? Change is a constant process, with minor setbacks. We falter into believing we’re going to nail it on the first attempt. Maybe we haven’t realized, its what setting us apart from ever achieving our goal.

Change requires determination and commitment. Transformation is a life-long process. Your defeat can actually be a victory. You have to be able to tweak and tailor your tactics in different ways. You will have to constantly fight against the old habits to form new ones. We have to set realistic goals. This is a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix, and not a yearly fix.

Steer your vision in the right direction. Create a vision board, vision quote, or keep a journey. Write out or cutout your mission in life. Work on being more INTENTIONAL. A constant work in progress, I’ve by far have not perfected it, but enjoy the going through the process.

Know your limits, don’t ignore them. Understand what they are and decipher strategies to work through them. Strategies could mean having an accountability partner to help you work through it, do personal research you’ll find others have face the same hurdles, and stop criticizing yourself. We are nor will ever be perfect. Stop listening or comparing yourself to others social media status. Here’s the honest truth, “IT IS ALL FACT!” Filters and editing are in overload. Live for yourself, love yourself!

Sometimes, we need to take a break from social media or news to redefine who we are. You are not a failure, you are what we coin a “human”. We make mistakes, shortcomings, and fail at some point in our lifetime. The journey isn’t over, so get up and dust yourself off. You can always try again another day.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Come to think of it no other place has for that matter. Its a work in progress, along with a plan, passion and a greater purpose sum up to make your life full of constant resolutions. Unlock the person you were born to be!
